AHS Nationals -Thursday 30th July to Saturday 1st August
What a show - the Supreme Ridden Champion of the Show was the Crabbet/GSB mare Maiad, a daughter of HOYS champion Imad, plus the first ever National Crabbet Championships - Supreme Champion was another Imad child, the stallion Silvern Suprise.

I set off on a mini-stud tour in South Wales. I met up with Daphne Cocksedge and Rose Ennik at Daphne's Romac Stud and then we all went to visit the Flowers' Llain Arabian Stud and Diana Whittome's Coed-Y-Foel Stud. Rose was kind enough to put me up on the Saturday night so I got to see her remaining Ranadi children and her old Hanif mare too. Non-stop horse chat, lovely horses, old photos and the sun even shone for us!
I will be loading photo albums shortly - but here is Rose's stunning old lady Khamet, a 26 year old Ranadi daughter of all Crabbet/Old English lines with tail female strain to Nuhra.

I went to visit Caroline Sussex's Binley Arabian Stud. I then called in on Rosemary Archer's Worth Stud just down the road. Had a lovely day and took loads of photos.

I finally managed to get up to Cumbria to visit my own Narishka at stud with the Atkinsons at their Seren Stud in Cumbria - it was worth the trip for the scenery alone! There was a lot more than just scenery of course - great hospitality and wonderful horses. Winged Saint is still my favourite stallion in the UK at the moment. Such a very spectacular mover and an absolute sweetie with it too - what is not to like.
I'm crossing my fingers that Dom and Jan do set both Saint and their gorgeous senior sire Hanson up for AI. Mind you the mare care is second to none. So, if not, Narishka will just have to go back!
